Cecil Marks

Cecil Marks, 87, native of Tampa, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2019. He is survived by his loving Norma Jean Marks; daughter, Susan and her husband Jim Ulrick, daughter in-law Theresa Marks, grandchildren, Tyler Warren, Brittany Baran, Justin Ulrick, and Brian Ulrick, great-grandchildren Mauricio Ulrick, Ellis and Holden Baran and many other family members and friends. The family will receive friends for Visitation, Tuesday, May 14, 2019 between 11am and 12 PM at the Blount & Curry at Garden Of Memories Funeral Home, 4207 E Lake Avenue, Tampa. Services will begin at 12 PM at the funeral home, with Interment at the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Cecil graduated from Hillsborough High School. He then went into the Navy and served from 1951-1955 on U.S.S. The Sullivans. Cecil graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1959 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering. Cecil was a retired electrical engineer from the Federal Aviation Administration. Cecil was a 50-year Master Mason. Cecil always loved to talk to people. He liked to work on classic Mustang cars as a hobby. Cecil also enjoyed attending ship reunions for the U.S.S. The Sullivans. He was a Plank Owner and helped with the Tin Can Sailors to restore and maintain the original U.S.S. The Sullivans.
