IN THE CARE OF
Rosar-Morrison Funeral Home & Chapel
Janice Morrison was born in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia on March 19, 1950. She was one of six children, including her siblings Lucille, Patrick, Wayne, Betty, Cathy, and Joanne. In 1969, she married D’Arcy Morrison in Toronto, and gave birth to her only son Jeff in 1971. In 1976, she moved with her family to Elliot Lake, Ontario, where she worked for Denison Mines for several years. In 1996, Jan and Darcy moved to Cobourg, Ontario, and then to Belleville in 2015. She passed away peacefully at home on May 9 surrounded by her husband Darcy and her son Jeff in Belleville.
Jan was known for her kindness and caring. She devoted herself to her extended family, and spent countless hours in service to them. There was not a holiday or occasion that would go by where Jan would not send a card or gifts, and she was the first to call with an offer of help if the need arose. Until her last day, she was insistent that friends and family not dote on her; she wanted to make sure that others were cared for before herself.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 25 at 12noon at Rosar-Morrison Funeral Home & Chapel, 467 Sherbourne Street. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations in Jan’s name be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation via https://childrenswish.akaraisin.com/Donation/Event/DonationInfo.aspx?seid=15471&mid=50
