Obituary of Anastasios Vlachos
Anastasios “Tassos” Vlachos Surrounded by his loving family, Tassos peacefully passed away on November 1, 2018. Tassos was born in Kloni, Greece, to Dimitri and Konstandina Vlachos. He was the second to five boys, Christos, Aristotelis (previously deceased), Fotis and George. In 1963, Tassos immigrated to Vancouver where he met and married the love of his life, Vivie. Together, they had two girls, Nandia, married to Chris, and Effie, married to Siamak. He was blessed with four grandchildren, Anastas, Paris, Valentino and Constantino, who he loved and adored immensely. He centered his life around his grandchildren, doting on them and supporting them in any way he could. Tassos was a strong, passionate, generous and loving person who was loved not only by his family, but by all those who knew him. He enjoyed the company of friends, a good glass of wine (or two) and great conversation. He was an avid sportsman, enjoying his hunting and fishing buddies, and a perfectionist when it came to his work. Always willing to lend a hand, Tassos made a huge impact in his life and his imprint will carry on in the lives of those he touched. Tassos had a very strong bond with his extended family and will be deeply missed by all of his family, koumbari, Godchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. A funeral service will be held at St. George’s Orthodox Church, 4500 Arbutus Street on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at 12:00pm. Burial to follow at Forest Lawn, 3789 Royal Oak Avenue, Burnaby. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the BC Cancer Agency or St. John’s Hospice.
