Chung Hing Wong

Chung Hing Wong, also known to many as George, passed away on February 6, 2019, at the age of 80. The son of Wong Ming and Cheng Chi Ying, Chung Hing was born in Zhongshan, in the province of Canton, China, and made his way to Canada by the time he turned 18. He worked many jobs, including at a tofu factory in Chinatown and as a cook at Cardero’s, but he worked the longest as a forklift driver with Sauder Lumber and later with West Coast Plywood. He enjoyed listening to Chinese radio, watching pro wrestling and magic shows, and above all, eating and feeding friends and family. Chung Hing is survived by his wife Jy Lee; his children Selina (Kelly), Albert (Sandy), and Kai; and his grandchildren Blythe, Maia, and Daryl. He also leaves behind his siblings Nai See (Kwan Ha), Siu Chung (Lam Bun), and Gnai Chu (San), as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. His funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 12, 2019, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints 5280 Kincaid St, Burnaby at 12:00pm, with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park 3789 Royal Oak Ave, Burnaby.
