Lourdes Defenio

“Lourdes Defenio, age 69 of Vancouver, BC passed away peacefully at their home on Jan 1, 2019. She was born to the late Daniel and Maria Delariarte, April 27, 1949, in Dumangas, Iloilo, Philippines. The youngest of the 8 children, Lourdes graduated in Nursing from Bohol General Hospital (1971). Lourdes is survived by her husband, Hernane; her son, Mark and her daughter, Michelle, and her son-in-law, Michael. She is also survived by her two grandchildren, Meia and Mackenzie, whom she adored. Lourdes was a retired nurse, who was committed to providing kindness and care to all her patients. After graduation she worked at Dumangas Emergency Hospital and St Paul’s Hospital (Iloilo, Philippines) as a registered nurse prior to immigrating to Canada in 1972. When she settled in Vancouver, she worked at Vancouver General Hospital and Point Grey Private Hospital (Vancouver, BC) as a nurse. Lourdes was a parishioner at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, and belonged to the Charismatic prayer group. She was also an active member of Circulo Ilongo (Vancouver, BC). Respecting her final wishes, Lourdes will brought home to her final resting place in the Philippines. Funeral and Burial will be held in Dumangas, Iloilo, Philippines on February 12, 2019.
