Paul Yannacopoulos

Paul Yannacopoulos was born on June 5, 1926 in Athens, Greece and passed away on November 29, 2018 in Vancouver, British Columbia at the age of 92. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Eleni, in 2012 and is survived by his older brother, George; younger brother, Kosta; three children: Betty (Emmanuel) Papoutsakis (children: Niko, Paul, Emmanuel); Michael (Angela) (children: Anthony, Cristina); John (Helen) (children: Paul, Kosta, Maria) and Great-granchildren: Katerina, Emmanuel, Athena, Yianna and Andre. Paul was born and grew up in Ano Petralona, Athens. He married his soul mate, Eleni, in 1951. Soon after their first child was born, Paul went on a two-year work visa to Brazil where his family joined him soon after. They all immigrated to Canada from Brazil in 1957 and settled in Vancouver where their other two children were born. Vancouver was their home but when the children grew up, he enjoyed going to Greece every summer with his wife. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 10, 2018 at 10am at St. George's Greek Orthodox Church (4500 Arbutus Street) with Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Burnaby, BC. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, a donation to the BC Cancer Society will be appreciated.
