Sean Ready

Sean William Ready December 5, 1968 - December 4, 2018 Sean passed away at home just shy of his fiftieth birthday. For the past two years, Sean waged a hard-fought battle against glioblastoma, with great courage and determination. He leaves behind his beloved wife Vivean and daughters Stacey and Joanne. Predeceased by his father David, Sean is also survived by his mother Elsie, in-laws John and Tasia Simnos, brothers Larry Patterson (Sue), Duncan (Anna), Ian(Jennifer), sister-in-law Gena Kalpidis (Savas), and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Sean had a wicked sense of humour, a big heart, and was a loyal friend to many. His love of cooking and grilling led him to causes that he supported for many years - the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation Miracle Weekend, and the Annual Greek Festivals in East Vancouver and Surrey. Sean’s family thanks everyone for their love and support for Sean during his illness. Prayers and funeral service will be held at 7pm on Tuesday, December 11th at Mount Pleasant Funeral Home, 306 East 11th Avenue in Vancouver. A Celebration of Sean’s life will be held at 12 noon on January 13, 2019 at Saints Nicholas and Dimitrios Greek Orthodox Church, 4541 Boundary Road in Vancouver. Donations to the BC Cancer Foundation or the Canadian Red Cross HELP Program in his name are strongly encouraged. Flower deliveries will not be accepted at the funeral home.
