IN THE CARE OF
Hamilton Harron Funeral Home
Bonke, Werner (Vancouver, BC) Oct 24, 1930 - Nov 18, 2018 (age 88)
Sunday November 18, 2018, another soul is delivered into God’s hands before his time.
Werner is survived by his loving wife Teresita, his two children (Gordon and Nicola), and his extended family.
Werner’s life has been a testament to working hard and living life to the fullest. He was born in Holzkathen Germany to an agricultural family, he learned many different trades amongst them was the Millwright trade. He managed to escape the tensions of Europe at the time to come to Canada and build a better life.
Werner excelled in his craft - working in metal smelters and building major lumber mill installations throughout BC and Washington State. A true builder with an artists’ flare. In retirement, he and his soulmate, Terry, got to enjoy their passions for travel, gardening and family get togethers. He also liked to keep busy by building, among other things, houses, each elegantly signed by the artist who built it.
He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.
Celebration of his life will be held in Vancouver with a viewing on Saturday, Nov 24th at Hamilton Funeral Home (5390 Fraser St) and a church service at St. Andrews Parish on Monday, November 26 at 11:00 am. All condolences are graciously appreciated.
