IN THE CARE OF
First Memorial Funeral Services & Garden of Memories
It is with profound sorrow that the family announces Larry’s passing.
Two days before he died Larry was still going for coffee and attending the World Junior Hockey Championships. He loved socializing over a “spro” with family and friends and could have an engaging conversation with anyone. Being in nature was his spirituality and he travelled, hiked, rock-climbed, paddled, skated, camped and cycled throughout his life.
Larry was born in Duncan and lived most of his life in Victoria. He had an eclectic career ranging from forestry, financial planning, teaching English in Japan, and driving a school bus for SMUS and GNS.
Larry’s sister, Diane Graves predeceased him. Remembering him lovingly are his parents Alfred “Borgy” and Eunice, his wife Eileen, Aunts Rae and Marg, daughter Emma, son Lars, step-daughter Maria (Dan) and grandchildren Chloe, Sophie, Ellie, Elliot and Georgia, several cousins and a multitude of friends.
The family deeply appreciates the kindness, care, compassion and skill of Dr. Nicol McPherson, Dr. Anita Buriloski-Chkipova and the Victoria Hospice team.
We will be celebrating his life on Saturday, January 12, 2019 from 2 - 5 pm at The University Club at UVIC.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to www.victoriahospice.org or myloma.ca.
