IN THE CARE OF
First Memorial Funeral Services & Garden of Memories
Frank Leslie Curtis, “Les” died peacefully at Victoria General Hospital on Tuesday, January 1, 2019.
Born in Victoria on September 18, 1924, Les was an avid fisherman, a passion that stemmed from his youth, fishing off the waters of Dallas Road in his rowboat. Les grew up in Victoria and after serving his country in W.W.II returned home where he married Joyce Riddle in October 1949 and raised their 4 boys. In retirement, Les and Joyce moved to Fanny Bay where they enjoyed many happy years with newfound friends.
Predeceased by Joyce in 1999, after 49 years of marriage, Les continued life in Fanny Bay volunteering in the community for several organizations, including the Bayne Sound Lions and the OAP. In 2014, at the age of 90, Les moved back to Victoria to be closer to family. Les loved his family, especially his Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren, fishing, a good game of crib, a good laugh with friends and “Happy Hour”. Those who had the pleasure of knowing Les will always remember his kind caring ways, sense of humour and smile.
Les leaves behind 4 loving sons, Cliff (Joan), Kevin (Janice), Terry (Sally), Mark (Nola) and their families.
Celebrations of life will be scheduled for the Spring for both Victoria and Fanny Bay, with notices being posted closer to the date.
