Mr. George Malcolm Darroch

Darroch, George Malcolm (Mal) Jan 1, 1937 - May 25, 2018 Mal passed away peacefully on Friday, May 25, 2018 surrounded by family. A long-time resident of North Vancouver, he will be greatly missed by his wife, Micheline, his three children Audrey (Jim), Bryan (Tracy) and Carol (Mike), and his 7 grandchildren Dustin, Jordan & Tia, Christopher & Justin, and Tyler & Kyle as well as his siblings Gordon (Ann), Gail (John) and Karen (Ross). Mal was born in Calgary and grew up in Toronto where he met Micheline. They were married in 1961 and moved to Vancouver with their young family in 1966. He had a successful and influential career as a mortgage broker and was honoured with the MBABC Pioneer Award in 2007 for his innovation and dedication to the industry. An avid skier and golfer, he also enjoyed photography, woodworking and Nascar racing although, of all his passions, his greatest was his family. A service in celebration of his life will be held on Friday, June 8th at 11am at St. Anthony’s Parish, 2347 Inglewood Avenue, West Vancouver, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society. Condolences may be sent to Hollyburn Funeral Home.
