Mr. Philip Miller Stewart
December 4, 1934 – August 25, 2019
IN THE CARE OF
Hollyburn Funeral Home
Philip Miller Stewart died peacefully in his 84th year at LGH. Born in North Vancouver on W Windsor Rd, son of the late David and Cybill Stewart, Phil is survived by his wife, Myrna, and his stepsons Richard (Robyn) and Jamie (Liza) and his grandchildren, Tyson, Jarrett and Kasenya as well as his brother, Dave (Phyllis) and his nieces and nephew.
Phil worked at BC Rail, now owned by CN for most of his career. He was a sportsman who played football, soccer and baseball in his youth. Phil also was an avid fisherman and boater who loved being on the water. He was very proud of his long time roots in early Vancouver, where his mother's family had a lumber mill in the 1880s. Phil, though, grew up and spent his entire life in North Vancouver where his father owned and operated Stewart Sheet Metal on Esplanade St.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 to 4 PM on Sept 28th in the community room of Vista Place East, 158 West 13th St. North Vancouver. Parking is available nearby at North Vancouver Library.
