Wilma Lois Wanstall

It is with sorrow and sadness that we announce the passing of our mother at the age of 92. Wilma was born in Vancouver and lived downtown on Smythe Street until the age of 12 when her family moved to West Vancouver. She graduated from West Vancouver High at the age of 17 and immediately enrolled in teacher training. She loved teaching and eventually spent over 30 years in the classroom, mostly in West Vancouver. Wilma married twice (John Beltz, Harold Wanstall). She will be missed always by her three children: Gerrie Beltz, Rolf Beltz and Janet Beltz and by her four grandchildren: Shaun, Shane, Devin and Amanda Steiner. We are deeply grateful and sincerely thank the caregivers who devotedly cared for our mother during the last 5 years of her life. Their loving care and attention to all our mother’s needs allowed her to happily spend her final years in her own home. Thank you so much Margie, Jeannie, Jean, Caryl and May. A celebration of her life will be held later this summer. Please share a memory of Wilma.
