Obituary of J. Margaret Medwed
J. Margaret Medwed Sept 7, 1945 ~ October 18, 2018 Mom always said that when her time on earth was done that Dad would be here to get her and on Thursday, October 18th he did. I know they are both happy. Mom was born September 7, 1945 to Les & Peggy Pope. She lived here all her life. Mom worked for Barber Motors, Jerry Mainil, Weyburn this Week and Walmart. Mom and her good friend ran the Colosseum concessions. Mom & Myrna McFadden did that for 8 years and sold her share to Myrna. They also ran the mobile canteen. They had a lot of laughs even though it was hard work. They had such great customers. She finally decided to retire in 2013 and her and Dad were going to travel but Dad passed away March 2013 and plans changed. Mom married Jack Medwed April 24, 1965 and lived here all their life. Mom worked hard to keep Dad after his stroke. They both worked hard with Dad's therapy. He worked hard and made a remarkable recovery. Once Dad was mobile they were able to travel. They took a couple cruises and loved every minute. They were going to take one to Hawaii for their 50th but it didn't work out. They took a lot of trips with Stagecoach Tours and met a lot of nice people. Mom was predeceased by her father and mother, Les & Peggy Pope; her in-laws, Bill & Alice Medwed; her brothers, Jim & David Pope; her sister, Dorothy Ross; sister and brother in law, Verna & Selmar Dynna; and her beloved husband, Jack. She is survived by her son, Kevin Medwed; her much loved grandchildren, Logan & Colton Medwed; her niece, Kim Johnston (Guy), niece, Olivia; nephew, Sam and goddaughter, Tracy Hansen. Mom was next in line Mom to Norman (Ronda) McFadden, Karrie McFadden (Clay), Trevor McFadden, Tanya (Marlon)Kwochka and Tobi (Jeff) Erb and all their families; dear friends, Myrna McFadden and Heather Stairmand. A special daughter, Sarah Reginess and family and her special angel on earth, Holly (Jason) Adamache. Mom was actively involved in her church until her health started to fail. She will treasure church family and friends. She was a proud member of God's family. A Memorial Prayer Gathering will be held Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. from the Knox Presbyterian Church, Weyburn, Saskatchewan with Joanne McLeod leading.
