Obituary of Lois Marie (Green) Davidson
Born in Grand Bend on May 28, 1929. Passed away peacefully on March 4, 2019 at the age of 89 in Windsor. Reunited with her loving husband Robert Linton Davidson (2001). Cherished mother of Barbara (Bud) Sturgeon of Bayfield and Bill (Anne Marie) Davidson of Windsor. Proud grandmother of Michael Davidson of Windsor and Kelly Davidson of Toronto. Dear sister of Patricia Veal of Exeter. Sister-in-law of Colleen (Davidson) Davis, Kay Green, Dolores Green and Doug Moody. Predeceased by her parents Audrey Mae (Wood) and Ivan George Green, her siblings Howard Green, Ronald Green, Kip Green, Fran (Doug) Wallis and Dave (Sandra) Green and siblings-in-law Jack (Audrey) Davidson, Marilyn (Davidson) Moody and Ronald Davis. She will also be missed by 22 nieces and nephews. Lois started working at the Bank of Montreal as a stenographer in London and retired after 39 years as bank manager at the Wyandotte and Chilver branch in Walkerville in 1989. She volunteered at the Humane Society in Goderich because of her love for cats and for the Hospital Auxiliaries in Windsor and Clinton. Lois was a member of the IODE in Windsor, the McKay Choristers in Goderich, and the UCW in Windsor and Bayfield. She was a strong woman who valued manners and proper etiquette and passed on that knowledge to the young members of her family. She enjoyed playing bridge with her many friends in Windsor and Bayfield, hosting elegant dinner parties, gardening, bird watching and days spent at the beaches of Lake Huron. A special thank you goes to the staff of Village of St. Clair for their kindness and compassion during her 5 year stay there. As per Lois’ wishes, cremation has taken place. A picnic in the summer will be hosted in her memory with her family and friends at Port Blake.
