Michael John Higgins

Higgins, Michael John It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our father, Michael John Higgins on October 6, 2018. Born October 5, 1955, Michael was the son of John Higgins (2006) and Viola Higgins (nee Hillier) (2009). Michael is survived by his children Molly and Liam Higgins, his sister Debra Higgins Lloyd (Rob) and his niece Gemma. Michael will be forever missed by Dawn Mongeau. Special thanks are extended to Rose Gillis for her supportive kindness throughout Michael’s journey and to our mother Colleen Higgins who was helpful during process of his passing. Michael will be sadly missed by his dearest friends, family and acquaintance met throughout the years while employed by National Paint and Interiors as well as Pittsburg Paint (PPG) at the Chrysler Windsor Assembly Plant. Dad, thank you for having the courage to take the chance on the unknown, for enduring unimaginable pain and limitations and for doing it all with dignity. As your children, we will always be grateful for inheriting your sense of humor as well as your artistic and musical talents. Through all your pain and strife and at times when life made you sad, still came a smile and words of gratitude that you were the greatest Dad in the world. Now the distance between heaven and earth may keep us apart but these boundaries are meaningless; we will hold many memories of you in our hearts for eternity. We will be forever mystified by your suffering but also by your amazing strength. You will always be our father, our best friend, our love. Now is your time to rest in peace Daddy. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 26, 2018 at St. Mary’s Anglican Church (1983 Mary's Gate St, Windsor, ON) at 11a.m. followed immediately by internment in St. Mary’s Church Yard.
