Obituary of Mr. Edward Oscar Breyfogle
With great sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Edward Oscar Breyfogle, aged 91, on May 21, 2019. Ed was born on October 27, 1927 in Chicago, Il but immigrated to Manitoba at the age of 2. His young life was spent on his parent’s farm, and then after some time living in Morris and Winnipeg, he returned to the farm with his wife Ruth and children Bruce, Don, Dan, and Avis. Dairy cattle became his life. He greatly enjoyed showing them at fairs, was the Director of the Dairy Show at the Manitoba Stampede for many years, and was an honorary lifetime member of the Holstein-Friesen Association of Canada. After selling the farm, he worked for the Government of Canada as a ROP Inspector until his retirement, when he started his own little lawn maintenance service for half of the Southglen Mobile Home Community. Ed had a good sense of humor and made friends wherever he went. He loved family gatherings, camping with the grandchildren, playing cards, and curling. He also loved to travel, especially to Hawaii. Ed was predeceased by his brother Warren and sister Helen, and son Donald. Left to mourn are his wife Ruth, sons Bruce (Angela) and Dan, daughter Avis (Harley), daughter-in-law Carole (Garcia), grandchildren Brooke (Paul), Tammy (Gerry), Liza (John), Joy (Rob), Adrianne, Kristina (Dave), Frank Jr (Holly), and great grandchildren Jordynn, Jack, Hayley, Blade, Brittney, Sara, Olivia, Josh, Zach, Charlie, and Millie Sue. There will be a small private service at a later date for immediate family only. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, or, a charity of your choice.
