NORAH ANN WOOD Norah Ann Wood was born on June 8, 1927 in Truro, NS, the only child of William and Ann Murphy. She passed away peacefully on Oct 26, 2018 at the Foyer Notre-Dame. Her growing up years were spent in Truro, Toronto and Ottawa. She moved to Winnipeg with her parents in 1949. In her younger years she worked for the Bank of Canada in Ottawa and the Bank of Montreal in Winnipeg. On October 20, 1951 she married James Andrew (Jim) Wood and together they raised their three sons in Winnipeg. Norah has fond memories of time spent at her parents’ cottage in Sioux Narrows and later at their second home at Holiday Mountain in La Riviere. She was lucky to have enjoyed the company of many furry dog buddies over the years. Norah was a kind and thoughtful lady who spent her life looking after others. She was never the same after her youngest son passed away at the young age of 36. Norah was predeceased by her husband, Jim in 2014 and her son, Neil in 1999. She is survived by her sons, Bruce (Laurie) and Ian (Twyla), her daughter in law Laura (Mark McQuaid) and her grandchildren, Brian Wood, Lindsay Smith (Rob), Gary Wood (Lisa), Megan Wood (Mitch), Cameron Wood (Amy) and Alessandra Wood as well as six great-grandchildren, Ben and Edie Wood and their mother Theresa Cronin, Jack and Edison Smith, Adalyn Wood and Hayden Wood. A Memorial Service was held at 10:00 am on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Thomson “In the Park” Funeral Home. Interment followed at St. James Cemetery.
