Obituary of Renda Roberta Rintoul

IN THE CARE OF

Klassen Funeral Home

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Renda Rintoul on Sunday May 26, 2019 at St. Boniface Hospital, surrounded by her loved ones. Renda was predeceased by her mother, Janet, stepfather, Lorne, and her older brother, Harry. Left to hold her memory dear is her partner Arthur, who she loved deeply; her daughters Laura (Jason) and Sarah (Danny), as well as Arthur’s children Jodie and Matthew; her grandchildren Jamere, Jaxon, Gabriel and Abigail; her sister Rose (Colin), and her brother Del (Lisa); her nephews and nieces Austin, Nick, Jesse, Jenna, Linnaea; best friend Jackie, along with numerous cousins and all the hearts she touched. Renda was born in Winnipeg on October 18, 1958. She grew up and attended school in Winnipeg but spent a large part of her summers in Petersfield playing with cousins, picking rocks in the fields and having bonfires in the ditch. While working at the North End Women’s Resource Centre, a co worker urged Renda to return to school and complete a degree in Social Work. So, at the age of 42, Renda packed her backpack and went to University, where she obtained her Bachelor of Social Work. A year later, while working full time for the Province, Renda returned to school to complete her Master of Social Work. Her work was extremely important to her and she was very proud of her career. Renda loved to dance, she was a great cook and was masterful at party organizing and making sure everybody had their favorite dish. She loved to garden, travel, and spend time with her dogs, her boys, and going on camping trips with Arthur. Renda loved the color red, whether it was a piece of clothing or her nails, red was a staple in her wardrobe, symbolizing the passion with which she lived her life. Renda was true to herself; authenticity and reciprocity were important to her and she was often heard telling us “I am who I am”. A Celebration of Life will be held at Klassen Funeral Home on Saturday, June 8 at 10:00 a.m. In true celebration of her life, the family will have time to hear your memories of this wonderful woman.
