Renee also had many nieces, nephews, great nieces/nephews, cousins and many friends. Renee was predeceased by her son Gordon McIvor (1981) and sisters Alexandrine Labossiere and Blande Matthews; and brothers (Labossiere), Jules, Marcel, Denis, Bob, Bosco, and John. Renee was Educated at Lavalee, St. Adolph & Tech Voc. Schools. Renee’s children will be eternally grateful for her patience and honesty and the ongoing support that she unconditionally gave every time that one of us had a project, tried out for something, struggled with something, succeeded at something. Mom was always there to celebrate and mourn with us. The attention & respect that she gave each one of us with our challenges and achievements will never be forgotten. Renee was the most optimistic mother that a family of six children could ever have the pleasure to be loved and raised by. Blessed with many grandchildren Renee (Nana) spent countless hours with each of them and showered them with her affections. Mom was energetic and fun to be with, a perfect playmate and great friend to her grandchildren. Renee loved and treated each child special and they each have many wonderful memories. Renee expressed great pride each time new great grandchildren arrived; there are a total of ten to date. Renee was born the youngest of twelve siblings and cherished by each one of them. In fact Renee had incredible gratitude for her sisters and brothers who were always close in both times of need and times of celebration. Family, love, loyalty and spending time to develop relationships were very important to Renee. Also important to Renee was that her kids were raised with manners and that they showed respect to elders and each other. Renee taught every child in her life to hug and be grateful for everything you have. Renee had so many valued friends and good people in her life. She was always happy to help or simply enjoy some company; she always made time to listen. Her kindness and loving nature helped her to thrive as a home care worker for 25years. Mom believed you could get anything done by being kind. In the past four years of her journey on this earth mom enjoyed visits from her family & friends, group songs and anyone with a good sense of humor. The family wishes to thank the caregivers at Action Marguerite for their compassion & the real love that they showed to Renee on a daily basis. We are grateful to have had them by Mom’s side. Thank you for your love and effort mom, you never made anyone feel less, only more. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a donation in Renee’s memory to the Salvation Army. A celebration of Renee’s life will be held on November 01, 2018 at 10:30am at Holy Cross Church, 252 Dubuc St., Wpg, Mb., R2H 1E3, service directly followed by a gathering with lunch and refreshments in the hall. (A private family interment will follow at a later time)
