Richard Devin Harris

Richard (Rick) Devin Harris, 69; of Naches, WA died unexpectedly Thursday, September 26, 2019 at Virginia Mason Memorial Hospital. Rick is survived by his wife of 49 years, Diana (Kittle) Harris, daughter Dione (Jeff) Jefferson, son Matthew Harris, stepmother Peggy Harris, sisters Cheryl (Dennis) Belair, Delrae (Lonnie) Blanchard, Ginger Craig and brother Denny (Michelle) Carrell and may loving nieces, nephews and extended family. Rick was preceded in death by his father Charles (Chuck) Harris, mother Donna Callahan and younger sister, Jan Nelson. Rick was a quietly loving father, husband and friend. Rick was an avid outdoorsman most of his life. He loved hunting, fishing and sharing "big buck" stories. His most memorable times were spent on the John Day River with lifelong friend John Anderson and any time he got to go hunting with his son Matt. In recent years, as health conditions kept him from his outdoor pursuits, he was most happy sitting on his deck soaking up the sunshine or spending time listening to the river at Dione & Jeff’s cabin. He worked as a building inspector for Yakima County for 35 years and was highly respected by all he worked with. He retired in 2005. It cannot be summed up in words how greatly he will be missed by his family. Per Rick's wishes, there will be no memorial service.
