Walter Hojsak, 66, a resident of Pennington, N.J. and one time resident of Yonkers, died on Thursday August 29, 2019 in Cherry Hill, N.J.
He was born on August 13, 1953, the first of three children, to Andrej and Eufrozyna Hojsak in Poland. He was a graduate of Manhattan College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering. Mr. Hojsak was a defense systems engineer for Booz Allen Hamilton Consultants in Maryland and worked on cutting edge internet based tactical military projects. Prior to that, he worked with GE on the renowned Princeton Plasma Fusion Reactor Project. He loved the outdoors and was an avid runner and bicyclist. He also had a pilot’s license and enjoyed flying. He is survived by a brother, Miro Hojsak and his wife Joanne of Tenafly, NJ and a sister, Chrystyna Stone of Somers. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, Donald Stone III, Jennifer Stone, and Allison, Stephanie and Jillian Hojsak. He was beloved by all and his kindness and friendship will be missed. Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Thursday 3-8pm. Pannakhyda Service at 7:30pm. Funeral Service will be held in St. Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Church on Friday September 6th at 10am. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
