Raven L. Collins

Raven L. Collins, 73 of Huntington passed away on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at Parkview Huntington Hospital. Raven was a graduate of Huntington High School. She had worked as a bartender at the American Legion Post 85 in Huntington. She was a member of American Legion Post 85 Women’s Auxiliary where she once held the office of President. Raven was very involved in Post 85 and loved helping out with all of the veteran activities and fundraisers. She was a people person, a social butterfly who never knew a stranger. Raven was born on November 29, 1947 in Huntington, the daughter of the late Roger and Billie Jean (Thompson) Garretson. She was united in marriage to Gregory Collins in 1966 in Virginia. Gregory preceded her in death in 1993. Survivors include three sons: Chris (Beckie) Collins, Kenneth Collins, Gregory “Scott” (Jeanie) Collins all of Huntington; six grandchildren: Katherine Sides-Farmland of Huntington, Courtney (John) Mills of Huntington, Jenica Collins of Fort Wayne, Colin (Mattie) Collins of Garrett, Sierra Collins of Fort Wayne, Brydon Collins of Huntington; four great grandchildren: Alexander Sides, Lucas Mertz, Penelope Collins and Elouise Collins. She was preceded in death by two brothers: Jerry Wayne Garretson and Michael Lee Garretson. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 25, 2021 from 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.We will be following the CDC’s and Indiana’s guidelines.
