Dorothy L. "Dot" Gayhart

Dorothy L. “Dot” Gayhart, 88, passed through heaven’s open gates on Saturday, July 10, 2021.
She was born July 6, 1933 to the late Floyd and Hilda Susan (Burns) Teter. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Dorothy was a member of Glovier Memorial United Methodist Church and retired from the former Mize Supply Company.
She enjoyed watching all the game shows on television and reading her bible.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. “Pete” Gayhart on December 8, 1995; siblings, Bill Teter, Frank Teter, Homer Teter, Carrie Romain, Ruth Hickman and Mable Vest.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda Armstrong and fiance’ Ron Brower of Waynesboro, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 19, 2021 at Glovier United Methodist Church, 688 Highland Ave., Waynesboro with Pastor Janet Knott and Rev. Dr. Wray Sherman officiating. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers will be Gary Wright, Larry Johnson, Bobby Dunn, Casey Carter, Jimmy Roberson, and Jack Plummer.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 18, 2021 at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main St. Waynesboro, Va.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Waynesboro Manor for their care over the years for Dorothy.
