Donna Sanders

Donna Ilene Sanders, 81, of Fishers, passed away on November 19th. Visitation will be on December 19th, 2020 at the Gothic Chapel of Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis, IN from 1:00 – 3:00 PM with a funeral service proceeding. Dr. Steve Ebling from New Hope Presbyterian Church will be officiating. Burial will occur at Crown Hill Cemetery at a future date. Donna was born in Danville, IL to Leo and LaVerne Farris on March 21, 1939. She grew up on a farm and went to school in Ridgefarm, IL where she discovered her love of music. She played saxophone in the Glee Club, won many medals in music competitions and sang in the choir. She married Don Sanders on December 21, 1958 in Ridgefarm, IL. Donna graduated from business college and worked administrative jobs to support her new husband as he was completing studies at Bradley University. In later years, she worked as a medical transcriptionist for Neurology of Indianapolis. Donna was kind of heart and strong of faith. She loved her grandchildren, Grant and Alina, immensely. Donna is preceded in death by her parents, Leo and LaVerne Farris, her brother, Phil Farris and her niece, Diana Hanthorne. Donna is survived by her husband of 61 years, Don H. Sanders of Fishers, IN, sons David (Kathy) Sanders and Drew (Vanessa) Sanders, both of Indianapolis, grandson Grant Sanders and granddaughter Alina Sanders The family of Donna wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the nurses and staff at the Memory Care Unit at Allisonville Meadows.
