Obituary of Dwain Lee Hamilton
Dwain Lee Hamilton, 90, died peacefully at home with his family on January 8, 2021 in Indianapolis. Dwain was born October 19, 1930 in Dover Hill, Indiana, the son of Lester Charles Hamilton and Ruby Rose Hamilton (Crays). Dwain graduated from Shoals High School in Dover Hill, Indiana in 1948. Following graduation, he served in the United States Marine Corp. from 1952 to 1954 during the Korean conflict. Dwain married his sweetheart Mickey Hamilton on November 25,1956 and began a career in refrigeration/air conditioning maintenance. Together they raised their children, went camping and fishing, and spent precious time with family and friends together for 64 years. Dwain retired after 26 years with Eli Lilly Company. Dwain was known to be a kind and patient man who was well liked by friends and neighbors. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Dale Rodney Hamilton; sister, Janice Shaw. Dwain is survived by his loving wife, Marie “Mickey” Hamilton; son, Lee Hamilton (Karen); daughter, Carol Brown (Larry); grandchildren, Clayton Hamilton (Terra), Mason Hamilton, Collin Brown, and Grant Brown; great grandchildren, Leila Hamilton and Heath Hamilton; siblings, Franklin Hamilton, Joyce Kerns, June Burris, Charles Hamilton, and Glen Hamilton. A graveside service will be held on January 12, 2021 at 11:00 am Memorial Park Cemetery at 9350 East Washington Street in Indianapolis. Arrangements by Little’s & Sons.
