Rex Walton Hathaway

Rex Walton Hathaway, age 93, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2021. Rex was born on August 18, 1927 in Coatesville, Indiana to the late Harmon H. and Grace Marie (Walton) Hathaway. He graduated from AMO High School. After high school, Rex served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married Lee George in 1962. Rex worked for the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier for many years before he retired. He was an active member of Grace Church in Indianapolis. Rex enjoyed sports, especially baseball. He was very passionate about his faith and he spent a lot of time reading his bible and leading bible studies at Rosegate Village. Rex will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Rex is survived by his daughter, Robin (Bradley) Beard; grandchildren, Lyndsay (Jordan) Denton and Jillian Beard; great grandson, Carson Denton; niece, Bobbi (Pete) Kelley; and nephews, Larry Hathaway and Kirby Hathaway. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lee Hathaway; parents, Harmon and Grace Hathaway; sister, Doris Runnells; and brother, Herbert Hathaway. A visitation for Rex will be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Little & Sons Funeral Home, 4901 E Stop Eleven Road, Indianapolis, IN 46237. A funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00 PM also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Washington Park North Cemetery, 2702 Kessler Blvd West Drive, Indianapolis, IN 46228.
