Obituary of Julian Leo Cawthorne
Julian Leo Cawthorne, 79, of Lynchburg went to be with his Lord Thursday, November 23, 2017. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patricia “Patsy” Cawthorne. Born in Appomattox, March 1, 1938 he was the son of the late James Daniel Cawthorne and Annie Wooldridge Cawthorne. Leo was retired from Lynchburg Foundry after 30 years of service and was a member of Marshall Lodge #39. He was a longtime member of Thomas Road Baptist Church where he served as a special assistant to Dr. & Mrs. Jerry Falwell for over 40 years. One son, Mark Everette Cawthorne and 13 brothers and sisters preceded him in death. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Karen Lee Cawthorne of Troy, PA, Julie Cawthorne Lupinetti and her husband Francesco of Forest and Patricia Kate Quinn and her husband Patrick of Powhatan; three sisters, Mary Sale, Doris Johnson and Helen Duff; one brother, Norman Ray Cawthorne and four grandchildren, Francesca Lupinetti, Leonardo Lupinetti, Patrick Quinn, Jr. and Noah Quinn. A service celebrating his life will be conducted in the old Pate Chapel at Thomas Road Baptist Church, 701 Thomas Road at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 28, 2017 with Pastor Jonathan Falwell officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, November 27, 2017 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
