Ruth Edson Augustine

Ruth Edson Augustine, 95, of Bloomington, died Tuesday, November 3, 2020 in I.U. Health Hospice House. She was born April 16, 1925 in Aurora, IL to Raymond G. Edson and Grace Hahn Edson. She was retired from Public Service Indiana where she had been an Electric Living Consultant. Survivors include her son, Frank L. “Skip” Augustine, and his wife Caroline of Encinitas, CA; and two grandchildren, Sarah (Bevan) Augustine of Portland, OR and Peter Augustine of Oceanside, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank L. “Bud” Augustine; and a sister, Alice Rose Edson. After graduating from the University of Illinois, she went to work for LaClede Gas Company in St. Louis, and while living there she met Bud, and on July 15, 1950 they were married in West Chicago, IL, and returned to St. Louis. After Skip was born the family moved to Cincinnati and Ruth stayed home to tend her family. In 1967 they moved to Bloomington and in 1968 she started working for Public Service Indiana until her retirement in 1990. Ruth was an active member of St. Marks United Methodist Church. No Services are scheduled at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Day & Deremiah-Frye Funeral Home.
