Lorraine Dawn Mason McCormick

Lorraine Dawn Mason McCormick, 72, of Lynchburg went to be with her Savior Monday, February 26, 2018, at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of her late first husband, Glenn Neal Mason and her second husband, Lewis Pete McCormick. Born March 22, 1945, in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Thurman Lawrence and the late Elizabeth Wingfield Lawrence. Dawn was a retired school bus driver for Liberty Christian Academy and a member of Jordan Baptist Church. In addition to her husband, Dawn is survived by her children, Wendy Mason Robertson (Brandon) of Forest and Lorne Gray Mason of Lynchburg; stepdaughter, Regina Lynne Cardwell (Billy) of Pamplin; five siblings, Frances Reynolds of Rustburg, Levay Hall of Lynchburg, Elton Lawrence of Madison Heights, Thurman Lawrence (Martha) of Lynchburg and Melvin Lawrence of Lynchburg; four grandchildren, Emma Robertson, Chloe Robertson, Colleen Cardwell and Harry Cardwell; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 2, 2018, at Jordan Baptist Church with Dr. Melvin Campbell and Rev. Carlton Dunn, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
