Mary Jean (Warman) Popp, 92 years of age died Monday September 7th, with her husband of 70 years and family by her side. She was born May 19, 1928 in New Albany, Indiana to her late parents John W. and Bertha (Leppert) Warman. Mary was a retired employee of the Census Bureau in Jeffersonville, IN and was a member of St. Joe Hill Catholic church since 1955. She taught CCD, was a member of the St. Joe Board for Providence and was awarded the St. John Bosco CYO award and was also a past member of the CYO board of directors. She was also and a past board member and President of the Rebels Square Dance club, Red Hats Ladies club, and her Bunco club. She was preceded in death by her parents, Daughter Denise Popp, and siblings Wayne, Cline, Wesley, Glen Warman, and Helen McFadden.
Surviving are her husband of 70 years, George Popp; children, Theresa Lenfert (Dan), Rick Popp, Tony Popp (Missy); six grandchildren, Renee, Brian, Joe, Adam, Erich, and Cory; eleven great grandchildren and also many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm Friday and after 9:00 am Saturday September 12th, at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 12:00 pm Saturday at St. John Paul II Catholic Church (St. Joe Hill Campus) with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
