Marilyn J. Nyffeler, 66, of Ossian, passed away Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Lutheran Hospital. She was born August 5, 1951 to Dale and Jane (Gordon) Lesh in Bluffton, Indiana. She grew up on a farm north of Uniondale and graduated from Norwell High School in 1969. In October of 1973, she married Doug Nyffeler. She worked for 10 years at Crosby Group of American Hoist. After taking time off to be a homemaker, she then spent 17 years working in Ossian & Lancaster schools for Adams-Wells Special Needs preschool. She truly loved working with the kids. Marilyn was an avid Adams Central, IU & Pacers basketball fan and also enjoyed reading, gardening, bird watching, cooking, baking cookies, and especially her kids & grandsons. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Ossian. She is survived by her husband, Doug; daughters & sons-in-law, Katie (Shane) Maller of Decatur and Lisa (Landin) McSorley of Fort Wayne; grandsons, Trace, Lane, Jaiden & Elliott; and her brother, Dennis Lesh of Ossian. She was proceeded in death by her parents; and grandparents, Dwight & Lela Lesh and Roy & Alice Gordon; and grandson, Luke. Funeral service will be Friday, April 6, 2018 at 11 AM at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 West Mill Street, Ossian, IN 46777 with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be Thursday, April 5, 2017 from 2:00 to 5:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or Riley Hospital for Children NICU.
