James Timothy Yacobi, Sr.

James Timothy (Tim) Yacobi, Sr., 62, of Williamsburg, VA, passed away on January 4th, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents, Xavier Francis Yacobi, Jr and Anne Petty Yacobi, and his brother, Mike. He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Yacobi Dickerson (Brian); son, James Timothy Yacobi, Jr. (Lindsey); grandsons, Charles Johnson, Blake Johnson, James Yacobi, and Will Dickerson. He is also survived by his sisters, Laura Yacobi Struyf and Tina Yacobi Motola; sister-in law, Patricia; brothers, Frank, John, Tony and Rob Yacobi; and numerous dearly loved nieces and nephews. Tim was born in Gary, Indiana and attended Marian Catholic High School and Northern Illinois University before relocating to Virginia in 1976. He retired as an Inspector for Newport News Shipbuilding where he was employed for 38 years. A three time cancer survivor, he faced and won each challenge with faith, optimism and humor. He was a lifelong fan of his beloved Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 8:00pm on Wednesday, January 9 at Nelsen Funeral Home, Williamsburg.
