Mary Lou Weaver

Our mother, Mary Lou Weaver, of Kokomo, IN, left her earthly body and joined her Heavenly Father. Mother passed peacefully on Thursday November 21, 2019. Mother was the daughter of Hazel and Thomas Crowder who celebrate her homecoming. She is survived by her sister Shirley Harrison of Kokomo, and her brother, Jerry Crowder (wife Terry), of Cleveland TN. Mother was a 1948 graduate of Kokomo High School. She went on to attend Indiana Business College, and she was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. In May of 1950, Mom married our dad Arthur A. Weaver. She and our father owned Weaver’s Market, on the corner of Delphos and Hoffer Street in Kokomo. My sister, my brother and I grew up working in the grocery store. We would have preferred to be out playing all the time, but it’s where our parents instilled the lessons of hard work, responsibilities, compassion for others, and humility. Thank you from your children: Becky Smith (Mike) of Kokomo, Thomas Weaver (Lisa) of Tipton, and Jon F Weaver (Bruce) Cicero. Three grandchildren, Chad Smith, Casey Smith, and Joshua Weaver. She also had five great grandchildren. Dad preceded mother in death in 2008. Mother loved music. If there wasn’t any, she’d be whistling, making her own. She whistled and she sang and she had a lovely voice, and shared her talents with Trinity United Methodist Church, where she was a lifetime member. She enjoyed teaching Sunday school and summer vacation Bible schools. Services for our precious mother will be in Kokomo at Eller’s Mortuary-Webster Street Chapel. Please come and visit with family on Monday November 25th, between the hours of 4-7 pm. Her funeral will be officiated by Rev. Jeff Newton on Tuesday, November 26th, at 2 pm. Graveside service will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Kokomo.
