Mrs. Everleen Simmons Johnson, age 80, passed away on Christmas Day, December 25, 2020 at Pheasant Ridge Nursing and Rehab Center, Roanoke, Virginia where she had been a resident. Mrs. Johnson was born on January 24, 1940 in Henry County to the late Sam T. Watkins and the late Avis Koger Watkins. She was predeceased by her husband, Oscar Johnson, Jr., one daughter, Tammy Johnson, one son, Oscar “Ozzie” Johnson III, four sisters, Clara Hairston, Christine France, Louise Ford, Mattie Tarpley and one brother, Herman Simmons. She was a member of Galilean House of Worship.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by two daughters, Minister Wanda Stuart of Roanoke, Deborah Waller (Curtis) of Collinsville, five sons, Barry Johnson of Martinsville, Bryan Johnson (Betty) of Collinsville, Anthony Johnson (Janie) of Roanoke, Kevin Johnson (Jackie) of Roanoke, Gregory Johnson of Stuart, three sisters, Minister Savannah Hairston of Charlotte, N.C., Minister Terri Dodson of Martinsville, Minister Barbara Watkins of New York, one brother, Dr. Lewis Simmons (Oliva) of Preston, nineteen Grandchildren, thirty seven Great Grandchildren and three Great-Great Grandchildren.
A floating visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Collins Funeral Home.
A Graveside Service will be conducted at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at the Johnson Family Cemetery on Mariah Drive, Fieldale, Virginia.
Due to Covid-19, social distancing and wearing of mask will be required at all times.
