Robert E Ditmars

Robert E Ditmars, age 67, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, July 13, 2021. Robert was born February 26, 1954 in Garrett, IN, the son of the late Robert and Wilma Ditmars. Robert enjoyed deer hunting, and prior to his retirement he loved driving semi. When he wasn't hunting, you could find him napping next to a tree. Robert was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church. In his spare time he enjoyed watching John Wayne and Andy Griffith. He often spent time outside and would help his community by picking up garbage to help, even in the smallest of ways. Robert enjoyed gardening and he was always with his dog, Ben. He is survived by his children; Robbie (Jessica) Gammons, David Ditmars, Crystal (Sam) Ditmars, and Chris (Danielle) Ditmars; 13 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; brother, Jim Ditmars. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Roger Ditmars; sister, Deborah Lortie and wife, Gwyn Ditmars. Funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave., Ft Wayne, IN 46805. Visitation will be held from 11 am to 1 pm. Burial will take place in Lindenwood Cemetery, Ft. Wayne, IN.
