John D Boyd

John David Boyd, 77, of Evansville, IN passed away on Friday, May 10, 2019. He was born on October 19, 1941 to the late Lawrence and Louise Boyd. John retired as a firefighter after 28 years. He graduated from Reitz High School in 1959 and then joined the US Coast Guard. John was a member of the Westside Family Church. He enjoyed fishing, having his fire fighter friends come to his river camp for parties, and loved spending time with family even through his illness. He was preceded in death by his wife Karen Boyd of 5 years and daughter Joanna Boyd. John is survived by his children, Chris Boyd (Kim); grandchildren, Cassandra Boyd, John D. Boyd, Katrina Dunn, and Caitlyn Boyd; sister, Mona Whinrey (John); and 5 great grandchildren. A Memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. at the Westside Family Church on Saturday May 18, 2019.
