Rex E. Martin

Rex E. Martin, 83 of Huntington passed away at 12:49 pm on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at Parkview Huntington Hospital. Rex attended Huntington High School. He worked as a machinist for 42 years at Memcor, Harris Kayot and Western Wheel. He was a member of Moose Lodge 837 for 43 years. Rex loved working on cars and attending car shows, camping, fishing, gardening and yard work. He enjoyed animals, especially his dogs. Rex was a collector of everything, LOL!!! He was born on August 1, 1936 in Whitley County, the son of Joe and Ruth (Barker) Martin. He was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Nancy Kramer on May 30, 1954 in Huntington. They were married for 65 years. Survivors include: his wife: Nancy Martin of Huntington; a daughter: Kim Myers of Huntington; two sons: Jerry (Rhonda) Martin of Huntington; Chris Martin of Huntington; four grandchildren: Sean (Chelsie) Myers of Colorado; Brandy (Shawn) Strawderman of Michigan; Ashlee Martin of Fort Wayne; Marisa (Mike) Dalrymple of Fort Wayne and eleven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother: Jim Martin. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 following visitation at 1:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel. Interment will take place at the Pilgrims Rest Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations can be made out to Mooseheart in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
