Laura E. Hawk

Laura E. Hawk, 72, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2019 at Lutheran Hospital. Born on February 24, 1947 in Fort Wayne, she was a 1965 graduate of Bishop Luers and a 1967 graduate of St. Joseph's School of Nursing. Laura reluctantly retired in 2014 after 47 years of service. She was a true Florence Nightengale. Laura is survived by her husband of 33 years, John Hawk; daughter, Heather Uitts of Fort Wayne; and three grandchildren, Tyler and Ayrica Uitts of Fort Wayne and Trevor Uitts of Florida; several great grandchildren; brother, David Ellis of New Haven, brothers, Daniel (Lisa) Rowdabaugh and Donald (Marleta) Rowdabaugh of Ossian, Brian Stiver of Fort Wayne; and sister, Carla Stiver of Houston, TX. Laura is also survived by 18 nieces and nephews, and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews. Laura is preceded in death by parents, Carl and Nannette Stiver; brother, Micheal Stiver; nephew, Dennis Ellis; and sister-in-law, Crystal Ellis. Funeral service will be held on Monday, September 30, 2019 at 11:00 am at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home 6424 Winchester Road Fort Wayne with visitation one hour prior.
