Marion Sue Langston passed away from dementia at the Convalescent Center, Patriots Colony in Williamsburg on February 5, 2020, surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Marion, better known as “Sue” was born on February 18, 1937 in the small town of Social Circle, Georgia. Soon thereafter, she and her family moved to a small farm near Auburn, Georgia where she lived until she graduated from high school. Sue attended college at Oxford College of Emory University and went on to study art in Atlanta, Georgia. She became a very talented artist but her forte was floral designing and arranging. Sue worked for several flower shops and volunteered at her church in Williamsburg, Virginia.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph William Rice and Alice Lee Scroggins Rice; her older sister, Joanne Williams of Aiken, South Carolina.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 63 years, the love of her life, Lloyd Hoyle Langston; her daughter, Laura Hill Langston, (Kay Thornberry); her son, Alan Lloyd Langston (Amy Langston); three grandsons, Samuel Langston, Jacob Langston, and Trace Langston; sister, Linda Lee Queen; and brothers, William Rice (Carole) and H. Donald Rice (Nancy).
A Memorial Service will be held at Patriots Colony on February 29, 2020 at 2pm.
