Obituary of Martha J. Boultinghouse
Martha John (Blackburn) Boultinghouse, 94 of Evansville, went to be with her Savior Jesus Christ Sunday, May 3, 2020, at the Linda White Hospice House. She was born July 28, 1925 to the late Ralph and Inez Blackburn. Martha went to Delaware School and graduated from Central High School in 1943. Martha was a quiet, strong woman of faith. As a young woman she grew in her Christian faith under the guidance of Mama and Pappy Reveal at the Rescue Mission. She and her husband, Maurice Boultinghouse were Charter members of Oak Hill Baptist Church. She loved her church and was very active with the benevolent committee and the nursery. She enjoyed her Modern Mrs. Homemakers Club and painting ceramics. Her pride and joy were her four daughters and her grandchildren. She was always available to love and assist not only her own family members, but many families at church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Maurice. They met at the ages of three and five and were truly best friends for life. They married in 1946 on her birthday. Martha is survived by her daughters, Cindy (Mike) Iles, Bonnie (Larry) Beckham, Judy Koons, and Penny (Brad) Clark; grandchildren, Steven, Brian, Brent, Katie, Jamie and Amy; 14 great grandchildren; and several great great grandchildren. The family would like to thank the medical staff of the 5500 unit at Deaconess Midtown and those at the Linda White Hospice House for their care of Martha during this quarantine time.
