Lolene I. AtkinsLolene I. Atkins age 80, of Bassett, died Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at Trinity Mission Nursing Home in Rocky Mount, Virginia.She was born April 25, 1929 in Ferrum, Virginia to Thomas Moulton Ingram and Cora Lee Carter Ingram, both deceased.Mrs. Atkins was retired from J.D. Bassett Furniture. She dedicated the last few years of her life to taking care of her special needs grandson.In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Atkins; daughter, Janice Marie Dillon; sisters, Colleen Ingram, Stella Mildred Ingram, Lala Wade, Bessie Anderson, Irene Perrow and Nancy Robertson; brothers, Clyde Ingram, Eugene Ingram, Euell Ingram, Grady Ingram and Aubrey Ingram. She is survived by her daughters, Jackie Johnston and Dianne Anderson both of Rocky Mount; sons, Harrille Lee Atkins, Jr. and Roger Dale Atkins both of Bassett; sisters, Elizabeth Carter of Hampton, Virginia and Geneva Hawker of Oxford, North Carolina; brothers, James Ingram of Danville, Moulton Ingram, Jr. of Danville, Wayne Ingram of Danville and Ronnie Ingram of Richmond; fourteen grandchildren, two step- grandchildren, twenty great- grandchildren and three step- great- grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 10, 2009 at Collins-McKee-Stone Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, Dianne Anderson, 1635 Ball Park Road, Rocky Mount, Virginia. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 11, 2009 at Collins-McKee-Stone Funeral Home with Reverend Betty Marshall officiating.
