Charlotte "Becky" Leonard Mallory

Charlotte "Becky" Leonard Mallory, 81, of Ashland, passed peacefully on June 29, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hillory Thomas Mallory, Sr., sister, June L. Nicholas and brother, James C. Leonard. Becky retired from VDOT with over 28 years of service. She attended and was active at Ashland Church of God. She was the lead singer of the Firetower Quartet of the Gospel Chickenhouse and named the "Queen of Gospel Music for the State of Virginia" by Gov. Godwin. Mrs. Mallory is survived by her children, Wendy Reynolds (Glenn), Melissa Coleman (Terry), David Mallory (Debbie), Hillory Mallory, Jr. (Becky), and Robin Wahls (Dave); brother, Joseph M. Leonard; sister-in-law, Elidia Leonard; aunt, Verdie Roop; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Becky's family would like to thank the staff at Westport Nursing & Rehab and other caregivers for the compassionate care they provided their mother. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 5, 2018 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Nelsen Funeral Home & Crematory - Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Highway.
