Frank L. Jennings Jr.

Frank Leslie Jennings, Jr., 83, of Ashland, VA passed away peacefully on July 27, 2014. He was preceded in death by his beautiful wife of 60 years, Rose Marie Bateman Jennings; his parents, Frank L. Sr. and Rubye P. Jennings; sister, Elizabeth Jennings; and foster brother, Alton Webb. He is survived by his children Dorothy Chandler (Russ) of Ashland; Gary Jennings (Anne Gail) of Richmond; and Carole Jennings of Denver; his grandchildren, Danielle Jennings (Price), Katie Jennings, Will Chandler (Liz), Stacey Gibson (Josh); and Justin Schruijer; great-grandchildren, Aiden and Annabelle Chandler; Karen and Evelyn Gibson; nieces and nephews Beverly Harris; Frank Harris; Wanda Koon, and Mark Rash; foster brothers and sister, William Webb, Charles Webb, and Barbara Webb; devoted friend, Sheila Beving, along with a host of family members and friends. Frank will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, gentle spirit, and courageous heart. Throughout his life, Frank, as a U.S. Army (Sergeant 1st class), honorably served his country in the Korean War, became a master brick mason, accomplished gardener, craftsman, and woodsman; and most notably, was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Funeral arrangements include a visitation on Tuesday, July 29th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Nelsen Funeral Home, Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland VA, where services will be held on Wednesday, July 30th 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Signal Hill Memorial Park, Hanover, VA.
