Frances Inez Ballard

Frances Inez Caudle Ballard, 74, of 140 Tenth Street in Fieldale, died Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville.
She was born in Henry County on January 10, 1936, to John Oscar Caudle and Sussie Culler Caudle Prater.
She was a graduate of John D. Bassett High School and retired from Bassett-Walker Knitting. She was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Carol Ballard Alley, step-father, Robert Mike Prater, two step-brothers, Ace Franklin Prater and Willie Akers Caudle.
She is survived by her husband, Ralph M. Ballard of the residence; one son, Jackie Warren Ballard of Martinsville; one step-sister, Gracie Evelyn Caudle Bullins of Stanleytown; one grandson, James Robert “Bobby” Ballard and three great-grandsons, Anthony, Alex and Aaron Ballard.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 13, 2010 at 6:00 P.M. at Collins-McKee-Stone Funeral Homes in Bassett with the Rev. Isaac McDuffie officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the funeral service from 7:00 to 8:30 P.M., at Collins-McKee-Stone in Bassett.
Graveside services at Roselawn Burial Park will be private.
