Hilda Plaster

Hilda Thomasson Plaster passed away Saturday, April 7, 2018 at her home, surrounded by family. She was born December 7, 1926 in Figsboro, VA to James Everett Thomasson and Clarice Byrd Thomasson. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Roy Lee Plaster, her sister Peggy T. Wine, and her brother James (Jim) M. Thomasson. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law; Susan and Bill Sapp, Betsy P. and Paul Henny; and Jill P. and David Reilly, her grandchildren Joshua Rodgers and Heather Butterworth, Jenny S. Burchett and husband Corey, Brittany Shea Flanagan and husband Travis, Alexandra Reilly Detzler and husband Jonathan, Conner Reilly, and Georgia Reilly. Also surviving are four great- grandchildren; Banks and Blaire Flanagan , Luke Burchett, and Nora Detzler; step- grandchildren, Julianne, Evan and Allison Henny. Also surviving is sister-in-law, Delores F. Thomasson. Mrs. Plaster was blessed with loving caregivers, Kathy Patterson, Bobby Jo Suite, Vanessa Gravely, Eva Cole, Jade Draper, and Sandra Howell. Deep gratitude is extended to Mountain Valley Hospice and particularly to nurse Audrey Lester. Mrs. Plaster was a life-long member of Oak Level Baptist Church. Her faith and love inspired us all. The family will receive friends at Collins Funeral Home in Bassett, VA on Saturday, April 21, 2018 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.. The funeral service will follow at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Steve Manuel and Reverend Anthony Thomasson officiating.
