Vincent Woodrow Turner Jr.

Vincent Woodrow Turner Jr., 74, of Collinsville, died Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at his residence. Born in Vinton, July 17, 1943, he was a son of the late Mae Jamison Turner and Woodrow V. Turner. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Jane Barnes Turner. Vince was an avid fisherman, retired from Henry County Schools after many years of service, and was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. Surviving are his sons, Brian Turner (Melissa) of Greensboro, and Steven A. Turner (Cara) of Virginia Beach, sister, Judy Fazio (Jim) of Blue Ridge, and four grandchildren, Amber Scott, Joshua Turner, Nicholas Turner and Harper Turner. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 A.M. Monday at Collins Funeral Home, Bassett. A memorial service will follow at 11 A.M. with Pastor Doug Ramsey officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hillcrest Baptist Church. Arrangements by Collins Funeral Home, Bassett.
