Virginia Joyce Price Gibbs

Virginia Joyce Price Gibbs, 94, formerly of Collinsville, passed away Sunday, May 4, 2014 in Florida. She was born in Henry County, November 6, 1919 to James Andrew Joyce and Mattie Pearl Tilley Joyce. She was retired from DuPont. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter J. Price, Sr.; sisters, Carlene Joyce and Martenia Nester; brothers, Bobby Joe Joyce, Delane Joyce, Sanford Joyce, O.D, Joyce, Roy Joyce, Randolph Joyce and Woodrow Joyce. Surviving are two sons, Rodger D. Price and wife, Linda of Bassett, Walter J. Price, Jr. and wife, Dianna of Bradenton, Florida; four grandchildren, Patrick and Stephen Price, Shannon Price Bartram and Christina Price Avirett and five great-grandchildren; one sister, Vera Whitlow of Fieldale; four brothers, Harvey Joyce, Sr. of Bassett, Albert Joyce of Fieldale, Thomas Joyce, Sr. of Bassett and Leon Joyce of Collinsville. The funeral service will be held Thursday, May 8, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home in Bassett with Dr. Joey McNeill officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Center Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday one hour prior to the funeral service at Collins Funeral Home.
