Walter Douglas Hall

Mr. Walter Douglas “Doug” Hall, age 64 of Danville, VA and formerly of Yanceyville, NC, died on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center after a decline in health. Mr. Hall was born on June 5, 1954 to the late James Hall and the late Mary Frances Holliday Burke. He owned and operated D & S Auto Service for many years. He was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed car repair, auto racing and also loved fishing. He was married to Susan Adams Hall, who predeceased him. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Homer B. Burke, Sr. Mr. Hall is survived by one daughter, Sarah H. Kylander and husband, Joshua; one son, Scott Hall and wife, Angela, all of Yanceyville, NC; three sisters, Lori B. Graham and husband, Bruce of Greensboro, NC, Deborah B. Watson and husband, Chris, and Dianna Lynn Adams; his finaceé, Ronda Flinchum , all of Danville, VA; three brothers, Darrell Hall and wife, Kathy of Dry Fork, VA, Homer B. Burke, Jr. of OH, Paul Burke and wife, Lisa of Danville, VA; five grandchildren, William Hall, Benjamin Kylander, David Kylander, Ethan Dixon and Caroline Hall. Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Yanceyville, N.C. with Pastor Steve Tucker officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the First Baptist Church on Monday, October 29, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
