Donald E. Davidson
66, a lifelong resident of Beech Grove passed away peacefully and surrounded by love on Saturday May 10, 2014. He was born to Bud & Sally (Burris) Davidson on December 25, 1947.
After attending Beech Grove High School he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, and was a combat veteran of the Viet Nam war. He remained good friends with fellow Marines, Ron Bagnato (Echo 2/3) and John Breckenridge (Mike 3/3). He was a two time past commander of V.F.W. Post 5626 and belong to the American Legion and the Eagles of Beech Grove.
Don retired as a mail clerk for a law firm in 2010 while working for Pitney-Bowes Management Services.
He enjoyed all of his friends, vacationing, Running T Campground, the Alabama Coast, a good game of cards, reading, watching television, the Indy 500 Race, the Indianapolis Colts and University of Alabama football- Roll Tide.
He is survived by his wife and soul mate, Cindy, sons James and Christopher Davidson, his lifelong buddy, Mick Baxter, sister-in-law, Barbara (Tom) Doty, brother-in-law, Jimmy Croak and several nieces and nephews.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, his brother and sister-in-law, Larry & Paula Davidson and his faithful canine pal, Bubba Davidson.
A celebration of Life will be held at the family home in Beech Grove, IN on Saturday, May 31, from 2-6 pm.
